sorry there's not volume I didn't get around to adding sound. I will do this later when I continue to work on the project
also another note: the tree bars health/durability ui is based on a 16:9 screen aspect ratio: having the window in a different ratio will add "black bars" to the side or top of the screen which the ui still considers part of the screen and therefor will offset the ui by a little. It's easy to fix by resizing the window to as close to a 16:9 aspect ratio as possible and shouldn't be too detrimental.
also another another note: I will try to add the browser version but this might take a while as there are a lot of bugs when converting java to js code.
How to play:
Dash(Press space) into objects to "interact" with them.
Colliding with spikes will set your position back to spawn.
Interacting with a tree(only 1 kind right now) will toggle whether you can collide with spikes or not.
Get to and interact with the present in each level to win that level.
There is not much to play right now but the concept is there and I plan to add more levels when I have more time.

how to play/download:
downloading and running the installer will create a new "NonplussedNutcracker" folder in your program files which will have the exe to run the game.
there are 2 files that look the same the .exe for me and the person who helped me test running the game has been the top one of the two. you can also turn on viewing file extensions in the view tab.

I will also keep the jar file here but from my testing it worked for me however not for someone who already had minecraft downloaded (which requres a jre to run) so I guess it's hit or miss whether or not that one works (Maybe the jre 17 is needed).

Hi, I got it working yesterday with JRE17 indeed. I'm a software developer, so I could read the .bat to figure out what to do :-)
It took me a while to learn how to play, but once I got it I can see potential for more puzzles :-)
I can see why you told me the game was in a ruff state, I appreciate you making a game for me and to integrate the puzzle element in there combined with blocky texture. I'm glad you learned a lot, that is one of the things a gamejam should bring: lifelessons!
Please tag me in some way if you add extra puzzles, but don't feel obligated :-)
